Ferrari SA Aperta

The SA Aperta qualifies as the most powerful and fastest open Ferrari V12 ever offered. Ferrari decided to build 80 SA Apertas in celebration of Pininfarina’s 80th anniversary, the company that has produced some of the world’s most exclusive and memorable road-going Ferraris since the 1950s. The car’s nomenclature, “SA” pays homage to both Sergio and Andrea Pininfarina , wherese “Aperta” means “open” in Italian.

The SA Aperta is designed as a true roadster and it is not engineered with a full convertible roof in order to preserve its pure roadster outline. Its chassis and powertrain have been planned to achieve the performance expected from such an elite automobile. A chassis structure specially designed for the SA Aperta endows it with stiffness comparable to that of a closed berlinetta.

Ferrari’s expertise in transferring racing technology to road cars has led to in minimal weight gain for the SA Aperta compared to the 599 GTB Fiorano. Thanks to the 670 hp engine, the SA Aperta beautifully represents the sporty spirit of the 599 GTB, and at the same time, it incorporates Ferrari’s most advanced technology to deliver absolutely benchmark performance and superb driving pleasure.

Its interior is stylishly sporty with particularly sophisticated materials, trim and colors used throughout. The virtually endless combinations available guarantee that each and every SA APERTA is absolutely unique. The 599-based roadster features the 6.0-litre V12 engine from the 599 GTO with 661bhp, 457lb ft of torque and performs a 62 mph in a scarcely believable 3.6 seconds.

The majority of the car’s body panels come from the 599 GTB Fiorano, although the rocker panels have been massaged to accommodate larger brake cooling ducts. The SA Aperta differs from its 599 siblings above the fenders, where designers reshaped the car’s windshield, pillars, and cabin. The rear interior wall and integrated roll bar neatly flow into the elongated rear buttresses, while simultaneously echoing shape and color of the scalloped sports seats.
